That's the rule, I believe, so it's really up to you to argue with the receiver the merits of them having best perspective.

Agreed that it is against SotG, but what is the recourse for the offense and there is no way to contest a travel call right?

5 Man Zone (outdoor)

Hi, I know this has been asked before, but usually for an indoor game.
I'm playing/coaching a mixed 5's outdoor team and am curious if any there are any suggestions as to the best way to run a zone. We tried a 1-3-1 the other night, trying both a both a side and straight up force.
I've seen a box D suggested, where you put 2 up on the disk, 2 mid and one deep. Anyone have any experience with this D? Other suggestions are more then then ...

I like 3 on 3 Hotbox myself. It will give them 1 on 1 D skills, cutting skills, force them into various throws, and give them experience catching near lines (jumping, dragging toes, leaning, etc). With such small numbers, you have no choice but to touch the disc often. You can move the clear lines in or out depending on how much exercise you want them to get.
If you want drills and had trouble with the H stack you might simpl...

As the other poster said it is usually the person with the best perspective and in most cases, the person that caught the disc is usually going to argue that they had best perspective.
Which is complete buttkus... the player who caught the disc is concentrating on his hand and the disc... his eyes most definitely are not on his feet and the line...

Hello friends, donors, supporters, La Noche Mexicana attendees, and everyone else who has been involved in helping the Mexican women's ultimate team,
This is just a quick email to let you know that thanks to the support of the very generous international ultimate community, we are able to distribute to the 9 girls on the team the $12500mxn each lost in March. This, plus the incredible...

Re: Picking up the disc after a turn over

My understanding is they have a 10 count to get to the disc.
If they get to the disc but don't pick it up, you can count a 2 second delay before starting the stall count. Delay 2, Delay 1, Stalling, Stall 1, Stall 2....
They can not stand over the disc indefinitely.

Picking up the disc after a turn over
Author:

----------------------------------------
Sometimes after a turn over, a handler can take a very long time before picking up the disc. This often gives him the ability to set up the offense, making it harder for the defense. Somehow I am convinced that the handler has to walk straight to the disc and pick it up immediately after getting there, so that the defense can start the stall count right away. Very often though it occurs that a handler stands over the disc and sets up something, a...

Oops... I thought i added a paragraph before this. I feel stupid now. I found this on a blog (I can't find it anymore, that's why I posted this). I paraphrased this and it was translated from another language so that's why it probably didn't make sense is some places.. This is not my work or opinions. The only Rule change I like is the last one. Yardages don't make sense, its like having yardage penalties in hockey or lacrosse. It works, but...

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the sport but disagree with your rule changes. Maybe they just need a clarification.
1.) Pushing and shoving receivers is a bad idea. Much like football, this would obviously be considered pass interference. Sure there is some jostling, but any more would take away the spirit of the game. Also, even if you timed the contact for the exact moment the disc was touched, the danger and player safety hazards outwei...
